Our Background

Solar Factory Pool Products was originally established in 1989 by the company president & inventor David Hoff. Seeing the immense value the Solar Roller™ Pool Cover Remover could be to POOLS THAT CAN'T USE A DECK REEL (i.e. Custom Shaped pools up to L-Shapes), a patent was filed for and test marketing began. To our surprise, in the first month, 30 Solar Rollers were sold in the local test market of Vacaville California using a simple classified ad in the local newpaper.

Plus in many areas it is found pools can loose 10,000-25,000 gallons per year due to evaporation.  So this is really an issue when you realize that if a city water tank is typically 3.5 million gallons, then less than 300 evaporating pools will use an entire tank of drinking water.  So tell your water districts to add pool covers to their rebate programs!

Throughout the following year, we personally sold and installed over 200 Solar Rollers in a community of only 4000 pools. It didn't take long, however, to learn another major company out of Canada filed for patent behind us on a similar product and consequently our efforts were tied up until prevailing with the patent rights in late 1996. Earlier efforts though would prove priceless in further refining this product, having had the hands on experience with so many pools. The result has been a very clean product, easy to ship, assemble, and operate.
